WHAT WE STAND FOR
Our Mission and Vision
Mission: EMBRace is a culturally-based therapeutic program that encourages African American youth and families to confront and resolve racial stress and trauma together.
Vision: EMBRace provides African American youth and families with the tools and skills to resolve racial trauma and stress in an effort to promote healthy coping for racial encounters.
Meaningful, community informed work.
IMPROVING "THE TALK" STRATEGIES
PROMOTING STRESS MANAGEMENT
FACILITATING FAMILIAL BONDING
We seek to assess the effectiveness of the EMBRace Intervention to improve racial socialization competency for families.
We seek to decrease parental and child racial stress and trauma while promoting coping skills.
We seek to promote bonding between parents and children.
"And also, like, I say this, I love this program, because it talks about other things, the things that we don't talk about all the time. We don't talk about racism, like that, but it’s real. It’s real."
